S48 Inspection Report November 2017
Following Ofsted’s March 2023 inspection, the school continues to be judged 'Good'.
In particular, to extract a few points, the report states:
- St Bernard’s High School is a welcoming, inclusive school. Leaders have high expectations of pupils in terms of learning and behaviour
- Pupils work hard in lessons and their behaviour in class is focused and engaged
- Many pupils choose to study the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). The EBacc is an academically ambitious range of GCSE subjects that provides a foundation for a wide range of future careers and/or study
- Pupils benefit from a wide range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

In Particular, to extract a few points, the report states:
- There is a calm and respectful atmosphere within the school and all members of the community live out the mission, ‘Love one another as I have loved you’.
- There are strong links between the school and parishes and this ensures all are supported in their faith journey.
- The religious education department is well led with a clear vision and the expertise to secure this vision.
- The generosity of the wider school community towards charitable causes is most impressive.
- The commitment and dedication of the various youth ministries is truly inspiring
